Answer a Question - Get a Giveaway!

Marilee Brothers, author of Castle Ladyslipper, is offering a free giveaway of the novel to the person who gives the most imaginative response (in the comments section) to this question:

What historical character would you choose to be if you could go back in time?

  1. Great question - Marie Antoinette all the way. I know she lived a brutal life but for some reason, she's always been a heroine in my eyes.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. Oh, love the question. I would want to be Maid Marian. I've always loved a man strong enough to stand up for what is right and you can't get better than Robin Hood, in my opinion!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  3. Thanks for the great answers, gals.
Both good choices. I would choose to be Eleanor of Aquaitaine. She was married to two kings and the mother of three kings. Even though she was imprisoned by her husband, Henry II, she had the last laugh. When he died, she virtually ruled the country while her son, Richard Lionheart fought in the Crusades. She lived to be 87, a minor miracle in the 12th Century when the average life span was late 30's. Rock on, Eleanor!

  4. Actually, didn't want the above comment to be anonymous. Thought my name would appear. Sorry about that!

  5. I was thinking of Eleanor of Aquaitiane too but for a different reason. She is one of my ancestors (the most famous one). I wonder about her life and the people that she lived with.

  6. Whoa, Carol. You've got some good genes there. Lucky you! She was an amazing woman who truly changed the way people lived their lives. Have you heard of Elenor's "court of love?" In part, she was one of the people responsible for the renaissance and quite a remarkable woman. She and Henry actually raised armies and fought against one another as husband and wife. Now, how many of you out there felt like doing that but couldn't afford it? LOL!

  7. Hi Guys, great answers - Marilee's going to have problems picking a winner.

I'm not in the competition, but I'll answer anyway:
I wish I'd been Mother Teresa - she was so fearless and determined. She knew her mind exactly and what was right. It was a hard life for her but must've been so satisfying to know she was doing her bit.
I'm not courageous like that :-(

  8. Hi,

Talina was the person Marilee picked. Well done Talina - enjoy Castle Ladyslipper.

  9. Maybe Florence help others.
