Sunshine Award - what makes me smile

Awwww...look at that! I've been awarded a Sunshine Award by my wonderful friend Ute Carbone. If you've never read her Blueberry Truth I really recommend it: it's compelling and her fabulous characters (including seven year old Blueberry whose favorite expression is one Amazon wouldn't let me publish) will stay with you forever.

Now, according to the rules of the award, here are ten things that make me smile:

1. Dew drops on grass blades
2. Frost on the lawn
3. A smile from a shopkeeper who calls me "Miss"
4. The special fragrance of Portuguese cafés: freshly ground strong coffee, eggy sweetness of new-baked pastry
5. The prospect of reading a fabulous book, one I know I won't be able to put down
6. When there's no-one else on the beach and the waves pounding are just for me
7. When a cat lifts its tail in welcome
8. Dark, smooth chocolate
9. When the scales say I've lost weight
10. When the doctor tells me that my mammogram and ultrasound are OK

And now I'm going to pass this onto some of my very good friends:

1. Catherine Cavendish
2. Carolyn Rosewood
3. Siv Maria
4. Elin Gregory
5. Sarah Pearson
6. Jenn Scribbles

  3. Congratulations, and thank you for thinking of me :-)Considering I love 9 out of 10 of your list, I'm going to have to find my way to Portugal to check the other one out :-)

I found you through the A to Z blog list. I am visiting blogs with the number eight in them and you are number 198. I'll be posting about my number eight blog journey on Wednesday (3/14). You can check it out here JennsScribbles if you like.

What a cute award! I wish I had one. Number 9 is my favorite.
