The EPIC Awards

Well, I'm as happy as...a rubber duck sitting on top of a printer (sorry, I had to look around my office for inspiration for a simile).

I've just heard that my new dark fantasy/horror novel Hewhay Hall (published by Etopia Press) is a Finalist in the 2013 Epic eBook Awards.

This is my second published novel and the first one, Perfect Score (Published by Mundania Press), was a Finalist in the 2012 awards in the Mainstream Category.  Two out of two's not bad, eh?

Take a look at what EPIC is all about: it stands for the Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition and its site: http://www.epicorg.com/ is packed with information for e-book authors. It also holds annual prestigious awards, such as the Ariana Awards for the best ebook cover, a Young Writers Competition and the EPPIEs for e-Books. Judging for the e-Books starts in July and I know they recruit over a hundred judges every year - all anonymous. Judges aren't allowed to judge books in any category they may have entered, nor judge books from friends or from their own publishers. There are two preliminary rounds and then the finalists go through for the final judging. This year the awards are being presented at EPICon - and annual event that will be held in April 2013 in Vancouver. So keep your fingers crossed for me!

Here's a list of all the finalists.

This is the duck on my printer - shows how happy I am :-)
